Thomas Ray Hall, age 77, of Vanport, PA, formally of Fombell, PA, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. We lost the best father, grandfather and husband that we have ever known. Tommy went home to be with the Lord. Tommy was born on September 22, 1946 in Fombell, PA to Norman and Agnes (Marburger) Hall. He attended Riverside High school, where he graduated in 1966.
Tommy worked for Reliable Auto Part for 35 years until he retired in 1999. After enjoying a couple years of retirement, he decided that he missed working and wanted to find another job. That is when he went to work for Brighton Health Mart Pharmacy, where he worked for 10 years until shortly after he diagnosed with cancer, forcing his retirement again. This was hard on Tommy, as he had made a lot of new friends along his way.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia (Burkett) Hall; his two step-sons, Carl (Jennifer) Burkett of Ellwood City; and Christopher (Cindy) Burkett of Freedom; and a step daughter, Crystal (Kevin) Kuntz of Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Carol (Burkett) Meyer of Beaver Falls; Rachel (Eugene) (Burkett) McGilvery of Johnstown; a brother-in-law, Charles Burkett of New York; seven grandchildren, Alexis; Keller; Landon; Dante; Ella; Devlin; and Sage; and a special cousin, Harry (Spike) Moran of Beaver Falls.
Tommy was an amazing friend to many, but what mattered most to him was how important his family was to him. He might not have been a father by blood to his children, but he was the man who stepped up and became the father they needed.
Tommy is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ellen (Moran) Burkett, and a brother-in-law, John “Yogi” Meyer.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Tommy’s life on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 3:30 p.m. at Campbell’s Chippewa Funeral Home, Inc., 2618 Darlington Road, Chippewa Twp., PA 15010 (Randy R. Wheeler, supervisor, 724-843-2500).
