Kathy L. Smith

Kathy L. Smith, 69, of South Beaver Township passed away on Friday, June 21st, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, PA surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 3, 1949 and was the daughter of the late J. Willis and Dorothy (Schwarz) Gilliland and step daughter to Angie. Kathy leaves behind her loving husband of 49 years Gary C. Smith. Kathy was a middle school teacher at Big Beaver Falls Middle School,  from where she retired. She was also a member of the Brush Run United Methodist Church.

Kathy adored her grandchildren and spending time with them is what she cherished most. She also loved camping, fishing, horses, and enjoying the time she spent walking with her friends and just being in the outdoors on her farm.

Besides her husband she is survived by four children, Marcy (John) O'Donnell, Media, PA, Carrie (John) Zernick, Chippewa Twp, Jamie Smith, South Beaver Twp and Polly (Ed) Romigh, Chippewa Twp, six grandchildren, Ryan, Sean and Will O'Donnell, Zachary and Ally Zernick and Savannah Smith, a brother, Marty Gilliland and a sister, Janice Burks, Fields, LA.

Friends will be received Tuesday, June 25 from 2-4 and 6  until the time of service at 8pm in the Campbell's Chippewa Funeral Home.  Rev. Tom Scott will officiate.

Private interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
