Helen Alma Campbell Brown Duff, 97 passed away Sunday, May 9, 2017 in Hospice House, Fort Myers, FL. Helen was born in Baltimore, MD on February 13, 1920 to George Campbell and Mary Ethyl "Molly" Ryan Campbell. Helen spent most of her life in Baltimore but the last thirty years of her life were divided between Darlington, PA and Fort Myers, FL.
In Baltimore she worked as a merchandiser with her brother, Emmett, until deciding to buy, rehab and manage apartment buildings in Baltimore, at one time owning 47 apartments.
Helen married William J. "Bill" Duff on December 19, 1987. Helen and her husband, Bill, initially divided their time between Darlington and Fort Myers and in 2003 began living in Fort Myers full-time. She enjoyed gardening, parties and time spent with family and friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Emmett Campbell; her sister; Alice Faye Campbell Standiford; her sister, Mary Lee Campbell; her first husband, Art Brown; and her second husband, Bill Duff.
Surviving immediate family members include her son, Jim Duff and wife, Karen, Fort Myers, FL, her daughter, Janet Duff Childs and husband, Harry Childs, Palatine, IL and their children, Meghan and Sam Childs. Surviving extended family include Pam and Walter Gottschalk, Pat Campbell, Cassie Fendlay, Holly Campbell, Phyllis Coppersmith and Pat Coppersmith Lewis. Surviving close friends include Carol and Walter Agrawal, Pat and Bill Waddell, Annie Spinnicchio, Emily and Jim Lemay and Francis and Carol Wright.
Visitation will be at the Campbell's Chippewa Funeral Home, 2618 Darlington Road, Chippewa, PA , Friday, May 19, 2017, 3:00-5:00pm and 6:30-8:30pm and additional visitation will be on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 9:00am until the time of service at 10:00am in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Saul officiating. Interment will follow at the East Palestine Cemetery, East Palestine, OH.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Barrington Terrace, Forth Myers as well as Hope Healthcare Services and Hospice House of Fort Myers.
