Emil Eugene Siovaila, 86, of Beaver Falls passed into the presence of His Lord peacefully at home with his beloved wife of almost 64 years by his side on February 1, 2017.
Born February 26, 1930 in Ellwood City, PA , he was the son of the late George and Victoria "Sovalo" Siovaila and the husband of Gertrude (Morar) Siovaila whom he married on June 19, 1954.
Emil graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City in 1948, and attended Geneva College in Beaver Falls for two years. He worked as the parts manager at Lawrence Motor sales in Ellwood City from 1948-1951. Emil then joined the Navy and served for three years until his discharge in 1954. The U. S. Navy honored him with the Good Conduct Medal, along with the Korean Conflict Award, the Navy Occupation Service Medal (Europe), and the National Defense Service Medal. He then returned to Lawrence Motor Sales and served as their Service Manager.
Emil was employed as a roll turner for 32 years at LTV Steel in Aliquippa. He then worked at J&L Structural for 6 years before retiring in 1993.
He loved his church, First Assembly of God in Beaver Falls, and served the congregation in various roles throughout the years, including Secretary of the Official Board, Board of Trustees, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher for junior children and head usher. Emil was also a volunteer driver for DAV for 7 years, transporting veterans to the Pittsburgh and Butler VA hospitals.
Loving memories of Emil will be cherished by his wife, Gertrude (Morar) Siovaila; his son, Ronald (Shirley Felker) Siovaila, West Lafayette, IN; his daughter, Tami (Rich) Stevens, Warren, OH; his brother, Paul (Lois) Siovaila, Ellwood City; his sister, Rose (Ken) Shaffer, New Castle, PA; his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brent) Olivier, Chad (Lindsay) Siovaila, Carolynn Siovaila and Erin Stevens; his great-grandchildren, Rilla, Jem, Cameron, Zane and Cassie Olivier.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxane.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 9th from 2-8 PM in the Campbell's' Beaver Falls Funeral Home, 1326 Eighth Avenue, Beaver Falls and Friday from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM with his Pastor Paul Poole officiating.
The Veteran's Honor Guard will conduct full military rites at the funeral home at 10:45 AM. on Friday.
Interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
