David Charles Matthews

David Charles Matthews, age 77, of Chippewa, PA, died on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 17, 1947, and is the son of the late Harry and Edna Wynkoop Matthews. David was the husband of the late Betty Matthews. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a maintenance tech at various industries, lastly at the Beaver County Humane Society Thrift Store in Beaver Falls, PA.

He is survived by his son, Scott (Denise) Matthews of Darlington, PA; grandchildren, Lucas Matthews; Benjamin Matthews; step-grandchild, Shane Sobona; and nephew, Mark Matthews of Pittsburgh, PA.

In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by his brother, Martin (the late Patricia) Matthews.

Family and friends will gather on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Campbell’s Chippewa Funeral Home, Inc., 2618 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 (Randy R. Wheeler, supervisor, 724-843-2500).
