Charles Ellis Cockfield, Sr., 92, of Beaver Falls died, Sunday, August 19, 2018, in Providence Health Care in Beaver Falls.
Born, May 17, 1926 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Henry Harrison and Ruth (Grimsley) Cockfield. He was a mill worker for Armstrong before retiring and then worked as a patient care tech at the Medical Center Beaver. He had served in the U. S. Army.
Charles will be sadly missed by his family and friends especially those that have come to know and love him at Providence Health Care. He was a literary master having written a book, 2 plays that were performed and poetry. Charles would write poetry and his brother, Donald would recite them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Emma (Spencer) Cockfield, a son Charles Ellis Cockfield, Jr., a great grandson, Blaire Ellis Cockfield, Jr., brothers Henry, Robert, Horace and Donald and sisters Elizabeth Brown, Carriebelle Guilford, Doris Butler and Joan Tyson.
Surviving are his children: Adriene (Leon) Slaughter, Rosalind Cockfield, Bryan Cockfield, and Mark Cockfield, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jean Rawl, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received Thursday, August 23, 2018, from 4pm to 8pm in the A.D. Campbell Funeral Home, 1326 Eighth Avenue, Beaver Falls where funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 24, 2018, in the funeral home at 11am with Rev. Bernard E. Tench, Jr. of the Second Baptist Church, Beaver Falls officiating.
