Bert Ross Huston

Bert Ross Huston, age 72, of Enon Valley, PA, passed away at Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from complications of Rhabdomyolysis. Born on November 26, 1950 in New Galilee, PA, he was the son of the late Forest D. Huston and Grace E. (Reents) Huston. Bert and his wife, Peggy, met in 9th grade study hall at Northwestern Highschool in Darlington and would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on Memorial Day. Bert worked at Grief Brothers, Inc. in Darlington for almost 30 years until that company quit production. After he worked for RCI in Cranberry for 10 years until it closed, he then started working for Complete Outdoor Solutions in Enon Valley until retirement at 62 years old. Bert was born during the Thanksgiving 1950 blizzard with his twin brother, Walt, on one of his sister’s birthday. Their father, being a railroader out of Conway, rode the train as far as he could to New Galilee, was met by a neighbor youth, Jimmy Myers, and driven on his (Jimmy’s) tractor to meet his twins. In addition to his wife, Bert is survived by sons, Brett Huston and Shawn (Mandy) Huston; grandchildren, Chase; Clay (Maggie); Colton; and CarleeJo Huston; great grandsons, Casey and Collier Huston; sisters, Lynn (Keith) Blaho and Margie (Lee) Hostetter; sister-in-law, Teri Huston; and brother-in-law, Jack Gallentine. Bert was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Barbara Gallentine and twin brother, Walt Huston. Family and friends will gather at Campbell’s Chippewa Funeral Home, Inc., 2618 Darlington Road, Chippewa Twp., PA 15010 (Randy Wheeler, supervisor, 724-843-2500) on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., followed by a short prayer service for the family.
