Thomas F. Verdi, F.D. Supervisor
Thom is a first generation funeral director born and raised in Ashtabula, OH. Upon graduating high school he moved to Columbus, OH to further his education in cosmetology. After nearly 30 years of working in the beauty industry, which included traveling the world with two major beauty manufacturers, he felt there was one stone left unturned. Since losing his father at the age of 13 he had a strong desire to work in the funeral business. It was during this time, the funeral director that took care of his father, inspired him to want to help others in their time of need. At the age of 47 Thom enrolled in the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, earning his Associates degree in Funeral Service Management/Embalming, graduating cum laude in 2014. During his time in school he was elected president of student senate; recipient of the Mu Sigma Alpha award, which is only awarded to the top ten percent of mortuary students in the country; his former classmates voted him to receive the Memorial Award for his leadership and dedication while attending the institute. Thom is a member of St. Monica Parrish, Chippewa and looks to further his involvement in the community as a whole.
